When we know the target opportunities we need to have a set of tools for attacking and improving the opportunities for improvement. Reliability in Design (RID) provides us with those tools.
Reliability in Design includes the processes and tools we use for solving chronic or sporadic problems in our operations and maintenance activities. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), PM Optimization, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), LEAN, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Weibull Analysis, Spares Optimization, and other tools help us to achieve these goals.
